Thanks to Common Good’s generous support, the Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato has delivered the Kiwi Can programme to 10 primary schools, reaching 1,815 tamariki every week. This funding has fostered positive behaviour, values, and life skills in communities facing socio-economic challenges.
Kiwi Can is more than just a programme—it’s a consistent presence that builds confidence, wellbeing, and school culture. At Huntly West School, tamariki adore their Kiwi Can leader, Matua Marlon, whose influence has been profound. As staff shared, “It aligns with our school values. The kids at Huntly West absolutely adore Matua Marlon.” His presence provides positive male role modelling, fun, and encouragement to tamariki who thrive with that added support.
Teachers at Tainui Full Primary School also praise Kiwi Can’s collaborative approach to classroom learning: “Our Kiwi Can staff always want to know what we're learning at school and how they can incorporate this into their lessons.” This partnership strengthens both the Kiwi Can programme and the school’s values-based teaching.
With this funding, Kiwi Can continues to uplift and empower young learners, helping them grow into confident, emotionally aware individuals who build stronger relationships with others. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to make a lasting impact!
